Meet Honey Ghods

Dr. Honey Ghods is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of GWT Oral Surgery, a dynamic and rapidly growing organization dedicated to providing exceptional oral surgical care. With a strong commitment to excellence and a deep passion for improving lives, Dr. Ghods has been a driving force behind the growth and success of the practice.

In 2021, her and her husband, Dr. Ashkan Mobini founded Toronto Oral and Facial Surgery (TOFS) in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, with the goal of alleviating the medical pressures on Ontario’s healthcare system. She played a key role in not only co-founding the clinic, but also in designing and building the facility from the ground up.

The following year, Dr. Ghods expanded her vision into Southwest Ontario by acquiring two additional practices, now known as Guelph and Waterloo Oral Surgery, and rebranded the company as GWT Oral Surgery to encompass these locations (The original three: Guelph, Waterloo and Toronto Oral Surgery).

Most recently in 2024, under her stewardship, she expanded the company by acquiring another practice known as Kitchener Oral Surgery and expanded Toronto Oral and Facial Surgery and doubled its midtown Toronto footprint. Dr. Ghods’ strategic vision has been integral in broadening the organization’s reach while maintaining a commitment to delivering outstanding patient care

Before embarking on her career in oral surgery, Dr. Ghods earned two doctoral degrees in Educational Policy, with a focus on Urban Education and Educational Administration, from Michigan State University. Her dedication to driving positive change led her to work under the Obama Administration, where she contributed to national initiatives aimed at enhancing student achievement and promoting equality across the United States. Drawing on her academic expertise and leadership experience, Dr. Ghods successfully applied the principles from her educational research to business strategy, resulting in the thoughtful and scalable growth of GWT Oral Surgery.

Dr. Ghods is passionate about creating a patient-centered practice, where exceptional surgical outcomes and a compassionate approach to care are paramount. She remains deeply dedicated to advancing the field of oral surgery while continually striving to improve the lives of her patients.
